Below are some things discussed during the last meeting and events to keep in mind.

Questionnaire Posted on Forum Due May 31st

Thank you to those who have completed the questionnaire and posted your answers on the forum. For those of you that have not yet done so, please have this completed by May 31st. Completion of this questionnaire is requied because we are not only using this questionnaire to find out a bit more about our members, but to also begin to form committees for fundraising, medications, and charla/Spanish preparation. When filling out the questionnaire make sure to indicate which committee you would like to be a part of and why.

REMINDER: The permission slip I sent out via email last week to everyone is also due May 31st. If you don't know what I'm talking about or have not received the form, please email me ASAP (fhmedicalbrigades@gmail.com).

Organization and Preparation for De Anza Flea Market

As you all know, our second De Anza flea market will be on Saturday, June 1st. After the meeting on Friday, we will head to our storage room on campus and begin to organize and load cars from 11:30AM to 2:00PM to be hauled to De Anza the following morning. I see many of you have already volunteered to help haul donations over and I'm very pleased! If you still have things you would like to donate but are unable to make these times, please let us know and we will get you into contact with our two members in charge of this event, Noah and Yasmin. Please remember to sign up for a shift at the flea market if you have not already.

Updated Medications List and Donation Drives

After having our Medications Call with our adviser in Honduras, we received our updated Medications List for this brigade. I have provided the link below where you may find it on the wikidot site. Click on the link and under Medications and Supplies, find Medications List. This is the list of medications required for our August 2013 Brigade. I have had members express interest in holding their own donation drive (which is excellent!), but during our last meeting we discussed the possibility or purchasing our medications as opposed to having them donated.

So, for those still interested in holding donation drives, rather than asking for donations of medications, aim for supplies for our hygiene packs and donations for our charla (see Hygiene Pack and Donations sections at bottom of 2013 Medications List). Note: if you're looking to collect items for our hygiene packs, make sure that soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, etc. are travel size so that they may fit in a "pack". To those interested in the Medications Committee: this would be an excellent opportunity to hold drives in your area or contact your local hotels for soap/shampoo donations.

Flight Deviations for August 2013 Brigade

With the brigade date approaching closer everyday, we are shooting to have our flights booked this week. We will ask all the required information from you for this and our in country adviser will handle the rest. With this being said, if anyone is planning on leaving Honduras early, please let me know as soon as possible and I will send you a form to fill out and send to our in country adviser.
