Hey Brigadiers,

I hope is everyone is surviving dead week! Keep on rollin folks. We just have a couple of updates to go over, generally what was sent out in the recent set of minutes.

  • We are nearing the brigade date, so get super excited everyone! Since we are so close, any type of donations should be sent in. Specifically, we need: gently used backpacks, umbrellas, suitcases, and boxes of crayons. Reach out to family members, friends, anyone you know, as long it is functional, you're set.
  • Our July 11th Mandatory Meeting is coming up, so be prepared! If you haven't confirmed the date yet, be sure to do so. Contact Karen or Swaran if you cannot make it! On the agenda there is the pre-brigade curriculum we are going over in the meeting, it is at your disposal!
  • Make sure you're prepared by going over the brigadier checklist, the brigade date can creep up on you! To access the checklist, you can click the link at the bottom right of this blog. Once you click that, go to the volunteer tools at the top right, and follow the directions from there! On the left will be a list of resources and the checklist will be all the way at the bottom.
  • A brigadier, from the University of Pittsburgh, has introduced us to the option of a vision clinic. This clinic would provide close to 400 readers and 300 sunglasses. Being able to see and read is something highly valued by the members in the community. The overall cost would be about $550, as a brigade, we are currently at $14,000 in club funds. If you agree/disagree with this, let Karen know by replying to the email she sent out!

Just a quick update to keep you guys informed! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Karen or Swaran. Before you know it, the brigade will be staring you in the face, so it's best to iron out any inquires as soon as possible. Good luck on finals everyone, see you soon!
