I hope everyone is doing well. As you know, we are over half-way done with winter quarter. Which means...
Our trip to Honduras is 5 months away!
It is time to start working on the most entertaining part of the brigade (at least in my opinion), Charla! This is a time where volunteers teach children about brushing their teeth and eating a healthy diet in a kid-friendly way. Hand puppets and dancing are a must.
However, fluency in Spanish is not mandatory. During a Charla, we mostly communicate with pictures and movements (someone even played Spanish music on his phone while dancing for the kids as they brushed their teeth). So no worries if you studied another language (say....French...) for five years and have never taken Spanish (like moi).
